| ~Very Pretty But I Don't Know Species~ |
I am very new to bird watching. Please, I need help with identification of this bird. At first, I thought he was a Mockingbird. However, I have scoured over tons of images of Mockingbirds, and can't find any, either on the internet, or, in my own files that resemble this bird.
~Happy Week To All!~

Wow, your Killdeer is a cutie and I think your unknown is a cool Shrike? Awesome sightings!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the killdeer! The third one is a loggerhead shrike. Congrats!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Loggerhead Shrike :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good at identifying birds either. You'll get the hang of it I'm sure. You might find you a bird book and that would help.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots as always and birds are hard to photograph.
Have a terrific day honey. Big hugs. ☺
Loggerhead Jackie. You'll get there - keep persevering and don't be afraid to ask.
ReplyDeleteyup, i agree with those above. :) beautiful birds, both of them.
ReplyDeleteI think is it also a loggerhead- beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteGreat shots. I'm glad others identified the Shrike, I didn't have a clue.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!

So. FL has tons of Killdeer. Not familiar with the Shrike though. He is interesting.
ReplyDeleteBig hugs, honey...
Those are cool bird photos. I didn't know what the second one was either until I read the other comments. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a loggerhead shrike [the gray and white one that is masked]
ReplyDeleteAND...I do hope you both will take it easy when you get a chance. Things in life are much more important. And rest is assuredly needed when you are going to have a new puppy, new fencing, and a husband to take care of after surgery. Don't forget to breathe!!! Cowboy will understand that you two need to be with him too.
Very nice pictures! I was going to say a shrike, but others already have, so I don't need to.
ReplyDeleteI'm not very good at birds Jackie but did enjoy your photos :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a fantabulosa Sunday
They're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLovely bird shots! Killdeer have always been a favorite of mine!
ReplyDeleteThat is a Great Grey Shrike. Lovely bird and lovely shot.
