A Giant Red Lobster And More

This is Pier 99, a waterfront cafe, located in Corpus Christi, Texas.

These photos, and the ones below were all taken by me, six years ago, while on vacation visiting my daughter, and her husband in Corpus. They took me for a day at the beach. I had forgotten all about these photos. I found them recently tucked away in a folder on my laptop. These were all taken when all I had was my Kodak Instamatic. I was surprised to find that I spent almost the entire day focusing on birds. I guess I have been bird hunting much longer than I thought.

This little guy, or, I should say big guy, spent a great deal of the afternoon on the pier with people fishing. It got to be comical after a while. I think he wanted their fish!
After a couple of hours with no one paying any attention to him he flew away.

  7. A visit to Pier 99 and this beach would have been very interesting for both people watching and bird watching.

    Would loved to have sent you some of our rain, we sure had plenty to spare. To think only a few days before and elsewhere in our state were enduring huge wildfires. They also received some much needed rain.

  11. After reading your profile, we have a lot in common! I am a birdwatcher as well. I love these pictures, especially the big lobster and the bird in flight, the flying is so hard to capture on camera! I am so sorry about your goose! We have many Canada Geese around here. Thank you so much for visiting me, I am your newest follower.

  13. Hello Nice to meet you, Dearest Jackie;
    Thank you so much for visiting my blog and I am really honored to read your sweet comment, my new friend♡♡♡ I also added you to my circles on Google Plus. Haha, I just shifted for it as Google didn't allow me to post pictures unless I joined it recently.

    Oh, your pictures are SO excellent☆☆☆ Good of you to find them♬♬♬ I hadn't used camera much before I started blogging; the beautiful pictures like yours in blog land motivated me to use it a bit. But still don't have SLR, p;)
    Happy to be able to enjoy your blog from now on. I hope you are having wonderful new week.

    Sending you lots of love and hugs from Japan, xoxo Miyako*

  36. That is a seaside shack I'd love to visit - fresh Gulf seafood is unlike anywhere else. I'd never order a steak there! I like pelicans when they make their fast dives into the water for their dinner - this one is a bit agressive in his begging. Did he forget how to actually catch his dinner? Nice post!

    I posted these because I just found them hidden away in a folder, and realized I had been interested in birds much longer than I thought.

    I do have some better shots of birds than these. Well a little better anyway. I am still a babe in the woods when it comes to birding!
