The woods were made for the hunters of dreams,
The brooks for the fishers of song;
To the hunters who hunt for the gunless game
The streams and the woods belong.

ReplyDeleteHi Jackie, I just found your comment on my CC post a while back and wanted to thank you for stopping by. I love these photos you've taken. I also want to thank you for following me, I have done the same for you and also put you on my blog-roll blog.
ReplyDeleteI found it very interesting that your daughter teaches 19th and 20th century British Literature. And that you have an interest in English history. I am enjoying reading about it all myself and am relearning what I have forgotten years ago.
Thanks again for visiting me. I look forward to coming back here.
this is more like Heron Magic. love that blue one that looks mystical. and does this mean you don't sit around all day thinking about salt and pepper shakers> lol
ReplyDeleteLove the quote...but the heron images are best!!! They are difficult to photograph in flight...you did yourself proud!!!
ReplyDeleteYou got some great shots of the herons. I especially like your first one. Sorry to take so long to get over I'm just now catching up on comments.

Awesome photos. The first one with the beautiful reflection is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThe birds on the wing look wonderful! But especially adore Mr Grim Long Feather in the first photo! He cuts a mean reflection!
ReplyDeleteAwesome reflection in your first photo! Thanks for coming to my blog with your comment on pastel. I would say, pastel satisfies my desire for drawing. And I work slow, with many layers:)
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous Jackie. That first one is just amazing and the blue one is so pretty
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful birds and beautiful photography. Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving the nice comment. Hope you will visit again!
ReplyDeleteBack again! In answer to your comments (on my Fur and Wings blog) about muzzles on dogs, I have only seen them twice in all my time of taking photos! Both times involved a very crowded place. The first time was at Mornington street markets and the second time was yesterday when thousands crowded the Dromana foreshore for Australia Day celebrations. I can only presume, in both cases, it was a precautionary measure with so many people and so many divergent sounds around.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you for your thoughts!
Thanks for stopping back over Gemma with that information. It would be the same here in this country in a large gathering. At least in the larger cities anyway.
DeleteI use to always muzzle my German Shepherd when I took him to the Vet. as a precaution!
Thank you all so very very much for your comments. I was very lucky on this outing. I hope everyone is having a super weekend! :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures, It makes me feel free when I look at them! Thanks for all your comments on my blogs last week, I love hearing from you Jackie, your the sweetest and the more I know you the more I realize how much we have in common. I also suffered abuse as a child, have anxiety and some fear still with certain situations. I appreciate your openness, because in sharing we bring each other comfort. Thank you for that!
ReplyDeleteHope all is well,
Hugs,
Janet :)
